Hector Bauza, Renshi Rokudan, trained in authentic Motobu Udundi (the secret martial art of the Ryukyu King) since 2000 at the source while living in Okinawa and serving in the United States Air Force. He is a trustee of the Okinawa Motobu Udundi Association and was presented with Wakatake-kan, the associations 10th dojo, by Uehara Takeshi (deceased), the son of Uehara Seikichi & 12th Soke Motobu Udundi (deceased). Kancho Bauza is currently licensed to teach by Kaicho Ishikawa, the third Kaicho of the Okinawa Motobu Udundi Association.
During Kancho Bauza's 23 years’ experience, he was fortunate to train at various Okinawan dojos alongside many great teachers and skilled senior practitioners of Udundi. Now this unique 500-year-old koryu art is available at the Florida Emerald Coast where we follow the same traditional discipline as in Okinawa.
Wakatake-Kan is meant to honor the legacy of Uehara Seikichi, his most senior students, and his traditional training methods. We pride ourselves on maintaining our Udundi pure and passing it on to the next generation.
